Isn’t olive oil good for heart?

I am asked this question repeatedly. And my answer is, olives may be good and hence olive oil may be good, but it still brings forth all the bad effects of consuming oil without the associated fiber and minerals and other nutrition; and killing the nutrition when cooked in oil.

Check this article:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=16441928&dopt=Abstract. It compares soy to olives and confirms the health benefits from soy are comparable to olives.

In fact, Dr. Raju recommends using soy to combat cholesterol problems. Of course, one may get gas problems with soy but soy yogurt should work for anyone. Nuts and lentils are also heart healthy. And there are many other things you can use such as avocados, flax seeds etc.
